Spa and Resorts Type of Holidays

We stayed in very good hotels thanks to Susan's luck in striking a really good deal. This first photo shows our Ti Lun Hotel which belongs to the Bunun tribe. We were given a very good cultural show in the evening. The hotel ensures a good cultural show every night when tourists arrive bus the coach loads. We were even given a culinary demonstration - how to make tang yuan and green bean soup. We ate our own tang yuan too. After the show we went on a night walk to see the hanging bridge.

Taiwan is looking forward to millions of tourists from China in the next ten years. This hotel is usually fully booked.

Miri Harrison's Susan Wong spent a lot of time calling the agents in Taiwan for us and finally decided on Ah Du's agency. (More on him later)

First night was spent in Alive Regimen Hotel in Taipeh where we enjoyed a long two hour spa and soaked our selves in herbal tea! And in our own rooms! Our balcony faced a small hill and we saw the new moon.
This hotel sells its signature products for "good life cultivation"......

This is the West Lake Resort where we stayed the second night in Taiwan.. You will like the classical decor and very natural atmosphere as well as fantasy features. Old people have a place here because they can rent their " retirement homes" here. The offer is actually very appealing. Management is excellent. Most tourists come here for a short stay because it has a western appeal. There is a mini windmill and the gardens have western flowers as well. A golf course completes the setting. The business centre offers excellent service.
This is another view of Donpo hotel in the middle of the heart of TAiwan....very cold. It is actually made up for many smaller buildings of different styles so that tourists can have a good selection. Rooms very big by comparison to Malaysian hotel rooms of 2 or 3 star standard. There is no room service however. This actually looks similar to Swiss inns in the Alpine regions...It was cold that night for us and temperatures dropped to 8 degrees.

SEASONS HOTEL CLASSIC TAIPEI (Formerly "Taiwan Seasons Hotel Taipei") No. 326, Nanjing West Road, Taipei 103, Taiwan

On the last night we stayed at Classic Four Seasons in TAipeh. (We actually slept for three hours because we spent most of our time walking the streets of Si Ling and Tan Sui again!!) The management was kind enough to serve us early breakfast so that we could be at the Ariport for our Air Asia flight to KK at 9:05 a.m. Many compliments to the Front Desk Manager Ricky who personally served us the trays of breakfast and in lovely white porcelain crockery. Although very little English is spoken in most of the hotels we got by with our little Mandarin and a lot of Sarawak Hokkien. And our tour agent gave a really good deal. We were fortunate indeed.

Dear Ween

I must say Taiwan is a very mature player in tourism and the people really know their role as hosts....the place is very clean and social attitudes have risen to world standard....

I watch a docu, they have a fish massage. They have a pond where you either sit inside or at the edge, the tiny fish will come and eat away all you dead cells.

Did you go for one of those.

When I went to the rock water pool in Australia, there were little fish. They too were nibbling my toes.

Dear Ann
this fish therapy is popular even in KL. Nope I did not come across any in Taiwan..

The herbal tea spa was good. (each packet in the market cost RM30) And I had another hotspring spa in another hotel for free with my friends...

I did not go to the open air one which overlooked the hills and roads...I thought it was too open. The water was piped into the hotel from the hotel spring. This was at Ti Lun Hotel....
