Sunsets in North Borneo

I have a crazy bad habit of trying to catch a sunset.

Sometimes it is hard because you cannot drive fast enough to a place to watch the sun setting. Sometimes your worn out and heavy legs are not fast enough.

Sometimes you are too far away from the sea to catch the sun setting.

Sometimes you are in the middle of a chore and you cannot have that special moment of the sun.

When you try to catch a good sunset with all good intent and purpose you love the challenge.

The waiting is so special. Like these shots I made.....and whoever is with you must have a great sense of humour and tolerance to let you enjoy your craziness.

Reflections on the sea....

will the boats come into the scene?

How fast will the sun disappear? Two minutes?

Will the colours change?

This spectacular evening was all gold!

We must be thankful to friends who organize trips and include you!

God is great! Be thankful for a beautiful moment. Be thankful for good friends.

Hello Sarawakiana, beautiful shots. I too used to love taking sunsets, as well sunrise....
then by chance discovered portrait photography, and past 12 years have been taking portraits of women, matured ladies.....
and my reward is when hear their exclamation, "OMG! Is that me"?

Or their hubbies saying, "is that my wife"? Ha ha.
I make mature women look glamourous and sexy again, ha ha.
You have a nice day, Lee.

You caught the sunset real good this time. I am not a patient person to enjoy the landscapes and sun sets. Now I take their photos for my blogs.

It's a very nice photos you have here. I guess sunset photos from Miri is as nice as the photos. There was once when I saw a sunset which I cannot forget, it was one evening sometimes 10 years ago, when I was inside the plane from Penang to KL. It was the time of the heavy haze and the plane flew above everything and the view was just fascinating.
Me too have passion for photograph and will try to find time to shoot some nice photos. Maybe will take more of sunset photos. Sunsets are beautiful scenes, maybe it's just a way how God tells us that it such a beautiful day we had and beautiful we live in.
God bless.

Dear Uncle Lee
Every sea front or river front must have boardwalks for people to saunter and enjoy the beauty of the earth.
Looking a sunset one can feel that each day's labour and hardship go away...and feel refreshed.
Taking good portraits need good cameras. I am sure with your special eye for beauty your photos turn out exceptional.
thanks.

Dear Ann
Sunset photos depend on luck and the weather. Sometimes I would bring my camera for a good shot but the weather can suddenly change. Sometimes a great sunset is seen but I don't have my camera...luck is important too. But then sometimes the sunset picture doesn't turn out as what you have in mind.

Cheers.

Dear Andrew

Yes sunsets as seen from planes can be extraordinary. especially with all those fantastic cloud formations.

All the best to your photography...Once I was in Perth one of my sunset photos turned out to be all blue and cold because of the colour of the building.

Most photos of sunsets in tropical countries can be gold and warm.

The beauty of the earth is endless.
