Tamsui fisherman's Harbour

This photo is from Wikipedia. Before I left for Taiwan I did a bit of research on what kinds of photos I could take. This is exceptional which I cannot sort of copy because as a tourist with a limited time frame I would not be able to use a tripod and wait for the right moment or find a right angle. Point and shoot would be the thing for me. Lovely view isn't it?

See below the real thing from me......

I had an open mind about this trip -which does not have a tour leader. Different groups of ladies from different walks of life came together under one umbrella : women entrepreneurs. So the tour with 28 ladies (three ladies insisted on bringing their husbands at the last moment). So it became 28L and 3 Men. I was definitely in a new experience. My previous trips had been family centred and job centred.

We bought our own Air Asia Tickets and met in Taipeh hotel. There we were met by our tour guide. So the tour began....

The Lovers' Bridge at the Fisherman's Harbour.

Tamshui Fisherman's Wharf (Chinese: 淡水漁人碼頭) is a scenic spot at the western tip of Tamsui, Taipei County, Taiwan. Its predecessor was the "Tamsui Second Fishing Port" on the right bank of the Tamsui river estuary, an important fishing harbor in the early history of north Taiwan.

The Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf is well-known for its beautiful sunset and fresh seafood. While offering sightseeing and leisure facilities, it still holds its functionality as a harbor for fishing boats.

* Lover Bridge of Tamsui: Lover Bridge of Tamsui, a white-colored Cable-stayed bridge, derived its name since it was started on February 14, 2003, Valentine's Day. You may appreciate the sunset from the bridge. The total length is approximately 196 meters and the walk across takes approximately 3 minutes.
* Outdoor Lawn and Sculpture Park
* Fluctuation Fishing Boat Wharf: with anchorage for up to 150 fishing boats.
* Riverbanks Scenery Platform: maximum capacity of 3,000 people with views of the Tamsui river and Kuanyinshan.

Transportation

* Take the MRT Danshui_Line_(TRTS) to Danshui station, and then transfer to Bus Red-26, 836, or 837.

Hundreds of tour coaches take groups to this must see place.

It was a delighteful discovery - TAiwan has caught up with other western countries - animals are better to raise than children. A dog is a man's best friend. I saw a lot of dog lovers : old ladies- young couples - single old men looking happy with their choice of canine partner. This dachshund loves sunsets too.

Another beauty.

Met this 90 year old chatty Taiwanese with her family.

William Ting : why is there an extra feature in this photo? Reflection of something or play of lights?

Thanks Bengbeng.
I am no professional. Just the view from the bridge is so fantastic..I waited for the boat to create the waves....It has more life then....

There is a rule here for a limited number of boats berthed.

Dear Ah Ngao
The gold and slightly darkening colours are pretty...yet the colours are not reflected on the bridge.
Yeah the second pic looks like an ang moh place..

The harbour looks like fantastic place to relax. It kinds of reminds me of a colder version of the esplanade in Sibu.

People there seem to appreciate the place very much

And I want that sausage dog, could've 'tapau' it for me for my two 'girls' so they have another to play with. Very good picture of the dog. Just wonder what it's thinking looking at the sunset ;) Dogs are wonderful, wonderful companions. My 'girls' always welcome me home without getting tired of it. It'll go on for at least 2 hours.

Maybe its time to upgrade to a DSLR. Perhaps a smaller one instead of those huge bulky professional ones that I see a lot of people carrying. Can you handle it? Your photos are getting better and better. You can transform an asian location into an ang moh location!
