Chicken Rice on Three Wheelers

Years ago Sibu folks enjoyed buying Tie Pian from a very popular lady vendor called Nee Mui. She too used a three wheeler to peddle her goods to the delight of every one in the town. Cars in those days were of course fewer and she was fairly safe. In fact many times drivers would give way to her graciously. And the lady would get down and push her carriage along the streets like Jalan Kampong Nyabor.

In my recent visit to Sibu I caught sight of such a person like Nee Mui. According to a passer-by this young man is a seller of chicken rice....

Sibu should be proud of such a businessman who is not polluting the environment. This is indeed an environmentally friendly vehicle.

Just opposite the Shell Petrol Station near Premier Hotel or Sarawak House.

this is indeed a good way of doing business in Sibu - save petrol - save energy - and easy on the chaotic traffic of Sibu....

We must give him a good public service medal......innovative chicken rice on wheels!

Wonderful Sibu.

My dear Chang Yi, this chicken rice seller is one of our brothers-in-christ in the masland methodist church who is jovial and actively involved in many of the church activities. we always enjoy his chicken rice, curry chicken, pickled cucumber and 'pork leg' etc

Hello Justin

Yes it would be nice if we have chicken rice vendors like this...I am sure it would save a lot of travelling and petrol for housewives....But then business men know their operations cost...

I think this man is very special.

Forget to mention, he is not trading using the vehicle. he is just transporting all the food to his stall which is at the coffee shop opposite the central police station. i my hubby and I used to have it on many saturday afternoons

Ensurai said...

Dear Ma Nar
thanks...even if he uses the vehicle to do only the transportation it is a very good idea...Must eat there next time...thanks....

Keep the June 16-19th free for the GB anniversary...will be there.

Based on statements from Sibu this great young man is transporting the chicken rice etc. from home to his shop nearby...

But still it is a great scene...my heart was so touched...

No it is not for tourism...

sometimes spontaniety is a great gift....I often feel that once a camera is positioned and a great spontaneous photo can result...but unfortunately very often you don't get the real story behind the object....I heard many winning entries are also spontaneous shots....

This time this scene was too "fast" because I was standing at a very dangerous position...road divider!! LOL
