Good Friday

I am glad that Sarawak continues to celebrate an important holy day - Good Friday. This has been a special holiday granted to the people of Sarawak by the Brooke Rajahs and remains in the Sarawak Gazette and the Almanac since that time. We continue to remain in admiration of the Malaysian government which believes in the freedom of religions in the country.

Many Christians spend this day in fasting, prayer, repentance, and meditation on the agony and suffering of Christ on the cross.  We will pray for harmony and progress for our country and our countrymen.

As Christians across the world pray and fast for greater peace may I wish you too more love and more peace in the coming days.

And perhaps if we sow love and forgiveness where there is hatred the world may become a better place.

We went to church this morning. A few churches in the neighbourhood held a combined walk from one church to the other. My husband went, I didn't. My excuse, I am reacting to the flu vaccination. Sam went to easter camp. He will be a happy camper, lots of thrills and challenges.

In the past, NZ had days off from Good Friday to easter Monday. Now, Only Good Fridays for shops. They open on Sat, Sunday and Monday.

We started our school holidays.

Hope your are recovering from your flu vaccination...I haven't got mine yet. Apparently many doctors have emptied their stocks...

Easter is a fine holy day.... I am glad we still have Good Friday...

On Monday many private companies had a holiday for staff for Ching Ming. I think that is a good practice...

Cheers.
