ai yo....nyamai asai! masak tu ka,mmmm..
younno something,i ever came across shoes made from pig skin, have you seen any ?

hAHAHA aH nGAO

Pig skin is an alternative skin to ordinary leather. Hindus for example can be so strict that they cannot carry a leather bag. So pig leather comes in.

My husband once was given a great brief case (cost some big pounds) when a Muslim friend found that he had bought a pig leather brief case...We still have it...and in good condition.

So every man should be given his choice of skin.

Nyamai - organic meat.

I have not owned p's leather shoes yet.

We need to laugh once in a while....Our friend Steve Ling is in town tonight!! Having dinner with some friends now. I am waiting at the airport for a relative...flight delayed.....Good to have notebook to bring around....

Re: My class reunion photo:
Datuk Rohani was a year my junior. We played a lot of sports. Jasnah is the one in Tudong, and Soraya in the Iban dress.

No, I have not seen Miss Mamora since that evening in 1999.

Pigs: Are all those Iban pigs? They have morphed into city pigs in their confined space. Did I tell you we kept a pig for a couple of months before each festival in our house in Embang Road? and I was the pig farmer? I guess your cousin MeeGee knew about it and did not tell. It wasn't popular to be an organic farmer in a suburb at that time.

Hi Ann
Yes Datuk Rohani is always a kind lady who attends school reunions if she can find the time. That's a really nice photo...I must write about girls' hockey in Sibu one of these days...

I am surprised you wee a pig farmer then...didn't the SUDC come around getting people to pay fines?

I am sure Mee Gee and her family kept mum most of the time. Her late father was a fair man and never turn against a brother....My mother used to keep her chickens in cages and had little piles of would surrounding them....I was most scared of seeing a snake above the wood pile...yaks....

It is nice to swap stories with you!!

At that time, the SUDC didn't come around.everyone kept some chooks, ducks etc. We were SAN BA stock. We kept the pig in a big converted wooden crate.

The pig ate left overs and raw kang kong. So it was a very organic pig.

Some times I was lazy and didn't rinse his trough. The bugger was so smart and fussy that it won't eat stale food. It would squeal, and mum would ask me if I fed the pig. I said yes, the mum says the silly pig , go hit it with a stick. Of course, the more I whack it, the more it squealled, and we hushed that even Dr Wong Soon Kai could hear it.

(Hope you are not WSPA)

They loved it if you use a hose on it, but if you dump a bucket of water (to do a quick job) it squeals again.

We didn't have a fridge, we shared the meat with our aunties. What was left, mum made LARP pork, ( Wind blown and dried pork) I was pretty good in helping my uncle slaughter the pigs.

Dear Ann
that's a really good story!!

I wish I have learned to make larp pork...now I am not too sure I can make it by following a recipe....

cheers.
