Fish and Cordyceps Essence

After a lot of hardwork - sweating and heavy work and perhaps lack of sleep most Foochows would feel that their liver is over stressed. Their tongues become furry and white and they can taste the bitterness in their mouth. This symptom if you ask any Chinese sinseh is not too good and must be treated expediently and by some simple prescription actually.

One home cure in fact is to drink some cooling teas e.g. chrysanthemum tea or cold overnight chinese jasmine tea.

If the body continues to be weak a wise Chinese sinseh would suggest taking of fish essence.

However one of the best benefits of this fish essence in my own experience is its properties to enable faster healing of wounds (whether inflicted by accident or by an operation).

We Foochows believe in the curative properties of this type of fish. This fish is called Ikan Haruan in Malay. The live fish costs about RM24 per kg. Bigger fish cost more by the kilo. The prices of this fish vary from place to place. And some enterprising fishermen even sell ikan Haruan right in front of a hospital or clinic!!

Many women today would steam Ikan Haruan for their confinement after childbirth. Taking the essence of Ikan Haruan would replenish their energy too.

Try a little first. If it is not for you then don't buy anymore.

Cheers.

P/s
And for those who have been working very hard ....get some of these...or send some as gifts to those who have been working hard...Time to replenish energy.

And now I would like to send some cyber Fish Essence to all those who need it....Cheers.

Hi Sarawakiana, That expensive for the haruan? And yes, I have heard about this remedy long time ago.....
Haruans are being sold here too, from controlled fish farms....
reason for 'controlled'....

This is true, about 7 years ago, (appeared in the papers), this in USA, in a Northern State, it was believed a Chinese fellow...not sure a FooChow, or Hokkien....or whatever, anyway...but he bought couple of live haruans to make obat for his wife who had asthma, but wife refused, maybe she Mat Salleh....so he the kind hearted fellow he is, released both in a nearby pond.

And haruans can walk overland to nearby rivers or lakes.....
and today, haruans not a native American or Canadian fish, but an illegal... has spread to many US states, frightening locals.
And the Government now taking drastic measures to stop these 'dog fish' or 'snake heads' as they are known there and here.

These haruans are voracious eaters, wallop everything, and thus affecting local native fishes....and anglers getting the frights of their lives when fishing for bass, hooks a 30 pounder haruan.
And Canada three years ago pressed the panic button when an angler caught one in Quebec, a huge one, not sure what it was, informed the cops....

Today Canada has put electric fences across the St Lawrence river locks to prevent these haruans coming into the 5 Great Lakes....
And it is very serious too....the commercial fishermen now all very nervous....and in US, whole lakes are being poisoned or drained out to kill these haruans.
Canada now watching, studying all the rivers that crosses our borders from US. Its 'Wanted, Dead, not Alive' !

And here, its sold in Chinese supermarkets, but God help the person who releases one in our rivers or lakes.....
So, in US, here mention haruans or snake heads, like mentioning Bin Laden's name, ha ha. Lee.

Dear Uncle Lee
Thanks for the interesting info. I have heard of cat fish etc...but I did not know that it was Haruan which had disconcerted (to put it mildly) the Americans and Canadians!!

I am wondering why the Haruan can grow to be 30 pounders in foreign soils. that's a Yao Ming in fish terms.

This story is similar to kang kong's. I heard KK has a bad name too...a weed which clogs up rivers and lakes!

We can't manipulate nature - can we?

Is it the Cat fish or the SAN YU? In Singapore, they like that fish for confinement or after operation.

Re: The Grandpa and grand child in my photo, this is very common among the Chinese immigrants here and in Singapore. Mum and dad works, and grand parents take turn to babysit the grand kids.

Dear Ann
this is the Tum buoh...the ugly fish and not the cat fish..

Love to see old people with their grandkids...

(Now house developers have this clause "You are welcome to buy....and furthermore you can convert the downstairs unit to a very luxurious unit for your parents-in-law!!)kekekeke

Hi Anonymous
Thanks for writing. Yes this Fish Essence is really good. My aunt has steamed tapah fish with Brand's Essence of Chicken - terrific taste! And very energizing. I have to miss the CG for a few more weeks because of the 10 week new schedule. After August I will be back....see you. I miss you all too.

I used to catch this type of fish when young in Rajang - sold them only for 5 ringgit each - and very happy. Now in Sarikei and Bintangor many of my fishing friends get a bonus when they harvest this fish. Excellent food for kampong people . Now very priced by patients so kampong people eat less of it themselves.
