Kampua Mee Poster

The by election in Sibu is very hot indeed. The blue character poster says Sibu is changing all the time without Rocket......
On the green poster : If there is change kampua is no longer kampua....Smaller prints ask HL : Are you letting the proverbial wolf to come to Sarawak? Pakatan is a combination of several parties.....

Here's my Kampua and coffee shop talk ... 8 ( for prosperity) points

Our  50 year old One Malaysia society should NOT at this moment still have

1......... people ordering kampua without meat because they have no money in their pockets-
2....... beggars collecting the left over kampua mee from the table -
3........ the poor natives eating cold and squashed kampua from plastic bags in the bus terminals for example
4........poor boarding Iban and Penan school students eating  soggy biscuits with a small basin of half cooked Daddy's Mee floating on half boiled water for dinner.....
5......poor working girls eating only one meal of Kampua mee per day...and nothing else..(Carbos are the cheapest food in Asia) Big bosses please pay good and equal wages.
6.....people eating kampua mee as a treat while others order sharks' fin every day (and say that the restaurant is not good enough)
7.......differential treatment in coffee shops : friends get better and larger plate of kampua and ulu people get smaller portions and fewer slices of pork.....
8.......more frequent customers get fresh kampua mee and strangers from other races get yesterday's (from the fridge) kampua mee...If you are ONE Malaysia person bring three Non Chinese to a coffee shop and see what happens....(you get the goods for the value of the price you pay according to the slogan...but there is differential treatment if you have the wrong face in many incidents).

TWO good points:

1. My heartfelt thanks to the coffee shop owners who are ethical and honest - add an extra portion of kampua to the poor native family who look so scared to be in the coffee shop (two boys sharing a chair) ..... they have to order 5 plates of kampua to be shared by 8 of them.
2. My hearrfelt thanks to the hospitable kampua mee stall owner who spoke in Iban to the three Iban ladies who came to eat in the shop..."Anang malu...makai ..makai...bisi kampua..(mi kering) .. diatu..nyamai...nadai salah...kitai orang sendiri....One Malaysia..." He gave a good sincere smile.....

I read with great interest your entry today.
It has been bad eating in some of the kampua mee stalls especially in the less popular places. However the central market mee shops have been kinder to the ulu people.

TQ again for your fine thoughts.

Sorry I forget to put this in....what does the kampua mee poster say and mean in Chinese...for other races it is just a picture you know.

Dear Anonymous
Thanks for visiting. Business in the global sense is good business for all. Money is good money from whoever who pays. But sometimes towkays have differential preferences ...In other countries Racial Discrimination Act is very powerful.
And Trade Description Act is also very powerful.

Dear Ann
Kampua is the general term we see in most blogs.
It can be Kan Mian (from Mandarin). Kolo Mee (Kuching Hokkien). Kang Buang (Foochow Pinyin)
Kan muang (more localised Foochow pronunciation)

What's the Cantonese pinyin?

So you Foochow niece knows about yesterday's mee...smile.
Cheers...

dear Sarawakianaii

This poster has caused quite a bit of stir...and i think it is a kind of hit in Sibu.

For you info...BN actually suggests revolution not only change in Chinese language. How?

Have you picked that up?

My question is : many people in Sibu knew they were duped. They know they are being duped. And they know they have been duped...and they will be duped. Why?

We from Kuching only can say : In the past at present and in the future...no change for people who are afraid of change. Where is the BN revolution ....if that's their case?

Dear Ah Dang
I take that you are from Kuching and loves Kolo mee. Would you want your Kolo mee to change?
Good thinking on your part. I wish we are all good thinkers. Great Britain has also changed! First time in 100 years having Conservative and Liberal Democrats forming a coalition. I am impressed by Cameron and Clegg. Superb artistry in public speaking. I loved their debates.

Sibu people very hard to say. The government they have is the government they want. Outsiders cannot change them. They only want more money. Money is in their head. Their future generation will suffer.
