Sister Brenda Leong

This is a sad day for many of us who knew Brenda Leong. And I am posting a second article today for her.

We received text messages saying that she breathed her last while on her way by bus to Miri. We thought we could visit her again but it was not to be .

Whenever Brenda saw me in church she would give me a good slap on my back as a sign of loving and warm welcome. She was a nice single lady who was helpful and enthusaistic about every day things. She did not mind sharing an opinion or two.

It seems that my family and I have known her for ages and we cannot even remember when was it that we started talking!!

She was a kind of person who had an interest in things happening around her and she showed her concern and her willingness to pray for others.

When she was diagnosed with cancer every one was shocked! Why Brenda?

And events happened too quickly.

Brenda had fought the good fight.......Farewell our Sister Brenda...from all who love you in Grace Methodist Church....

Timothy 4:6-8
6 For I am already on the point of being sacrificed; the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Henceforth there is laid up
for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

Hi Sarawakiana, regret to read of your friend Brenda's passing away. May she rest in peace.
It is scary this cancer, attacking people of every age and creed....
I too have lost several friends having this problem.
You keep well, best regards, Lee.

It was really shocking as I thought I could visit her again. Yes I did think she was much much younger. I heard she was only 45 kg.

Hi Uncle Lee
It is so nice of you to write. It is sad for all of us here to see friends going one by one...some faster than others and some slowly ravaged by the big C. Scary...but with faith we can accept our various conditions with grace. Yes and at any age too! Brenda was first admitted for fluids in the lungs less than a month ago...so it has been quite shocking.

Thanks.

I don't know Brenda leong, but must be terrible for her family for her to expire in the bus. She's gone and it didn't matter to her.

I meant to ask if you knew my class mate Ngieng Koh something. His sister was two years my senior and they both went to MU. The sis is a teacher.

he worked as a lawyer in KL, and was involved in the iron man. He died recently, Brain tumor?

Hi Ann I know the Ngae family. Yes the brother Koh Hieng was in my sister's class. He passed away two months ago. I heard it was cancer.

I was at Brenda's funeral. The mother 91 years old could not take it. She left after 5 mins and we all broke down too.

thanks...

Koh Hieng was in my class, your sis was a year our junior.

Apparently he was very involved in the iron man and running marathon and much loved among the running fraternity.

Another mum has to bury a daughter, your mum must be really sad to hear these two deaths.

Yes..we normally don't tell her until sometime later...Mum being 86 now is advanced but I have three unmarried sisters who stay with her. One is driver and one is cook. One is to read to her and be her companion....we have great joy having her...But if only my maternal grandmother was alive...it would be really great 3 generation family.
