The Metamorphosis of Foochow Snacks

Here's the shop in Jalan Indah (near Kolej Laila Taib) where the metamorphosis (changes) of the traditional snacks of the Foochows is being carried out by Mr. Bean  who was formerly employed by a plywood factory.

Mr. Bean making his own noodles or pan mien using a pasta making machine (Made in Italy). He is a very hands on man. He is blog owner of Mr. Bean's World. If you see him you can see that he is the Foochow version of Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean).

Here he gives the final toss of the dry pan mien with soy sauce and other ingredients before serving.

Special pan mien with lots of ingredients (fried ikan bilis)

Curry Pan Mien. Very tasty.

The step of making the rice sheet (ting bian hoo) at the side of the kuali.

Curry Ting Bing Hoo - the new "butterfly" in town. We dare to try out the new recipe!

We cleaned the plates and bowls - Mr. Bean gracing the table and answering our questions!!

Kwo Han Sen (Mr.Bean) said that he will strive to continue inventing more recipes to attract a bigger clientele. I do wish him all the best in his undertakings!!

Is Sibu changing? Traditional snacks are changing indeed!!

Mr. Bean this is my friend Ah Ngao of Kuching...

I think the pan mien is the best (secret ingredient) and the ting bian hoo is also superb...Can't finish eating all the dishes on the menu in one sitting. Have to come back again and again...See you there Ah Ngao one day...
