At Doha Airport

The Doha Airport is not as huge as the Changi Airport of Singapore.

It is actually rather quiet and peaceful. The ground air hostesses are very polite and well trained.

The coffee outlets/restaurants are all tended by a group of multi-racial service help. One waiter is in fact from Tibet. And another from Sri Lanka.

There was nothing specifically ARAB in the food served.I was planning on having some couscous or Kebabs. Sandwiches and salads are the usual offering.

Even the name of the restaurant is Sterling. Perhaps that was why I did not feel terribly lost in the airport while waiting for my connecting flight.

A cup of coffee was RM18.....according to the exchange. We would give 20 ringgits and we would get 2 Riyal back. I am confused by this exchange. But any way we had to drink.

Our almost RM20 cup of coffee.

I am a big fan of TV Aljazeera. Here I am standing near the cash counter of the Sports Aljazeera ...lovely souvenirs to be bought. The lady did not want to be photograph.

It is better to leave Malaysia with some American dollars or the actual Riyal. Just enough to spend on drinks and buy a few packets of dates and nuts for friends in London if you wish to.

Waiting for the plane were many very well dressed Indians wearing very colourful saris.

The PA announced in both Arabic and English. So we did not actually get very lost.

Glad that you had a wonderful time traveling to the UK. Its so refreshing to see new sights, and learn new things :)

Hope in the future you'll have more adventures to look forward to!

A friend once told me, Doha airport is much like a country of its own, with a variety of people from all walks of life. The only thing missing is nasi lemak.

Thanks Freebird...But I think there is some kind of Nasi Bryani...and more Indian fare because of a large number of Indians and Sri Lankans working at the Airport....Definitely a very clean airport. And the toilets are well kept....
