Homes and architecture of Isle of Wight

I just could not help but click away!! You can see how beautiful these homes look like. Pretty like post cards!!

This was our hotel for two nights and two days.

Part of the shopping area.

Houses like these keep popping up all over the island.

We were astounded by the thatched roofed homes here....Shakespearean times.

It was not that easy to tear ourselves away from the island. We left part of our heart behind.

Hahaha Ah Ngao...atap if well arranged would not let the rain in...the thatched roof is an exceptional mathod of making a roof which keeps the cold and heat out..In summer the house is cooled by the straw base roof and in the winter the heat is kept in ...the thatched roof has to be changed once every few decades...or some repairs made...Very interesting indeed. Thatched cottages are highly priced today...for beauty and antiquity.
Ah Ngao...some times old wrinkled prunes look nice in dim lights. But thanks.
