Be Number One!!

Before Jack Welch advised CEOs to be No. 1 or No.2 in their businesses there were Foochow women who already wanted themselves or their children to be No. 1 or No.2 in Sibu. Mothers as far as I know all wish their children to be No. l or No. 2. And they make great efforts to do so.

This is one of the reasons why so many children in Sibu do well.

These photos tell you.......

Mum comes to bring extra food at recess time....or even before then

the boy is very well fed and he is very charming

You are right!! Mums have to make better and healthier food for the kids e.g. papaya slices with yoghurt.....cucumber with just lime juice and lots of vegetable juices..

I remember it was hard for many mothers to keep up with other mothers. My mother did not actually ever bring food for me because she was working with a very strict boss. I had to bring biscuits and water. But I grew to be a fat kid too. May be too much ice cream after lunch. And we went to tuition straight away. Those were very sleepy afternoons for most of us. So miserable at that time to chase after A's.

Dear Anonymous
Mothers have to get their balancing act together like a tight high wire rope artiste in a circus. She had to be focussed and a lot is on her shoulders especially if father is not trying at all to help with family chores. Always be more sympathetic towards mothers who already try their best. Sometimes they may fail in your eyes because they are not as strong as you think. Children must learn to cooperate with their mothers too. And I do know that some children are really the best in the world!! And their mothers love them and that's sometimes the only thing they can do.
