Vietnamese Coffee

It is lovely to get a special Christmas gift ...and coffee is my true love.

From Vietnam my son brought back two Phins. And it just such an innovative gadget. Simple to use and easy to wash. A housewife's dream! The Vietnamese are really innovative. And I love this because it is "fuel-less". Great environmentally friendly gadget.

Recently I also bought almost all of these coffee from Sibu.....It is a special brand from Vietname. A few packets of these have gone to Perth.

It is so comforting to smell the aroma of highland Vietnamese coffee brewing in your kitchen.....and it makes you feel that all is well outside the walls of your home! Just keep it that way.

thanks for the phin my ever thoughtful son....

I actually prefer instant coffee if it is good.

How does this gadget work? Put it by the window sill to catch the sun? LOL

Dear Ann
Most of us drink Nescafe like crazy...The phin has a cup and you need to pour two or three tablespoons of vietnamese ground coffee into the cup. Then you need to press down the "presser". Slowly the coffee will drip through the holes in the cup. It is a simple gadget. Brilliant! No I happen to be clumsy and like to "let the coffee seep through around the sink area....Easier to wipe.
