I hope I will be one of them to enjoy the red durians called ISU in Iban and I think there are other local names too......Wild Durians which are home grown would be a very special treat ...and I hope more farmers will try to tame this fruit!
Normal good durians are around 30 ringgit per fruit (big or small)..and I think the red durians should be fetching gourmet prices...
And in December we will go to Three Pillars' Farm in Oya Road to eat these lovely red wild durians....first ever in Sibu grown in a Foochow farm!! Congratulations to the Wong Brothers first....
However there is another type which is called RED SKINNED Durians.

Wenn...the red flowers are the first I have seen..in a photo...but the red durians were quite popular in the past..now getting very rare . Actually I saw some in 1980's but did not dare to eat in case too "heaty". It is the case of not knowing what it is like until you have lost it!!
I often eat the deep orange wild durians here. We call them Baby's shit....hahahaha got the picture?
the color of the durian is awesome ! yep,i managed to buy the deep orange type over here in Kuching,but this particular wild red - not yet try. these type of durians have a very unique smell/aroma and not all may like it. a hint of kerosene smell,Sarawakiana ? yesterday i bought 2 biji RM8 each - awesome lah !(the fact is vely lucky lah) at times,buying durian also depends on luck. i think i bought the Durian tembaga type,with the color dull brown and damn sticky....mmmmm yummy2.i ate with with plain rice.

Ah Ngao..hi...how are you? yes this kind of wild durian is very tasty and fragrant. Red ones are very rare...it is now the season. I hope you get them in Serian or Bau...Cheers.

Ann...wild durians are very tasty and sticky...I hope I can get to eat the red ones!! Ulu Limbang has a lot of the yellow or orange ones. They are very small actually ...two fists big?

Hi Sarawaklens...I am sure you can get the seedlings in Kuching. It is really sensational!! I wish I have some land (and the youth) to plant all the exotic fruits..
