Rice : Buras from Kalimantan

My former student George Matthias sent me this recipe:

Cook the rice with 'santan' half cooked. Wrap the half cooked rice in banana leaves. 2 bungkus di ikat jadi satu with manila rope. The reboil the wrapped rice with pure water for approx. 5-6 hours with light fire. Image may contain: food and indoor

Most preferable using firewood to cook. The buras can be taken with chicken and or beef curry and other preferable vegetables.

Another kind of leave wrapped rice is mixing rice with pumpkin and then steamed it.
