Don't Shoot Me!!

the fates of women can be as varied as the stars in the heavens.

These indigenous women are surviving in the urban jungle and are trying to make ends meet by doing some small businesses along the five foot way in the capital.

they are brave and courageous. They are hardworking and they are just as you say making a living. They don't take a summer holiday and they have to work even harder before and after Christmas because they need extra money for fees and school text books in the new year.

But they having noticed a camera pointed at them they quickly did what was natural...cover their faces.

One used her hands and one used a pink plastic bag.

One lady just turned her back towards me.

Live and let live. They have children and they have parents to support. May God bless them and their hardwork....

Life is easier for every one because they can earn some money and we find that it is so nice to be able to buy vegetables made readily available in every nook and corner in the city.

that is human culture...and that is a good life for every one - especially for these women who need to earn their two sen.

i must say, this is a nice entry. being an observant person, as much as i do, i think we should give some other perspectives to other people in our blog.

some might overlook and didn't notice these kind of things. god bless their hardwork, to earn decent money for their families. and god bless u too for reminding us, the readers.

Hi Sarawakiana,

I have been following your blog since it was started. Howeever, your later postings are not as good as your earlier ones. The quality is getting less and less!! Still I enjoy reading them!

Wenn...that's true..but some really are scared of being photographed...heard of people who think that their spirits might be captured? Call it superstition but they really do believe that especially the very old. So I usually ask permission first.

Today, I took the photo of a Green Peace member, he kept saying cool.

But I was in a small eatery, a bit like our Sibu Kopi Tiam, I didn't ask permission. I was actually waiting for my car to be fixed. I had a bowl of delicious warm dessert. I secretly took photos, I didn't dare to ask the waitress. I wish I did, because after waiting a long time, I went to check my car, and it was still not ready. Prior to that, I told her, I am going to check my car. She said, come back if it is not ready. When I did, she quietly gave me a glass of warm water. I have photos of her premises to blog.

Dear Ann
I think most people today do not mind being photographed if they know we are sincere and positive. However there are also many who are really camera shy...Shall we wish each other luck in our photographing endeavours?
