The price of tinned stewed pork has really gone up in 2022. In one year alone I saw how the prices went up again and again. Coupled with the increase of the price of fresh pork (caused by swine fever) many housewives find it hard to manage household budget.
I have started to eat from vegetables and less meat.
My daughter likes one particular dish and that is mi hoon fried with tinned stewed pork.
It is indeed very delicious and easy to make, especially when
you have soe guests to share your meal.
A packet of fine mi hoon is used.
In a kuali, add the sauce from two tins of stedwed pork, add chopped garlic and cook through. Add enough hot water from the kettle, and bring to the boil. Add finely sliced cabbage and some carrots.
When the vegetables are cooked, add the soften mi hoon and stir. At this point you can some finely chopped omelette (optional).
finally just before serving, add the chopped braised pork and let the mi hoon soak up the liquid.
