Natural Shampoo from the Jungle

Have you ever wondered how the beautiful maidens of the the Sarawak and Brunei forests kept their hair so shiny and soft before the days of Sunsilk Shampoo?

Writers had often written about their demure personality and their exquisite skin colour and wonderful long and luxuriant hair. Perhaps it was/and still is the jungle secret?

May be it is not such a well kept secret any more if this secret gets out into the cyberspace from many others and myself. Many of the Ibans in Limbang and Skrang continue to use this wood based shampoo.

And then I found someone in Brunei who claims the great properties of the wood. This vegetable vendor at the Jerudong Fish Market told me about the wonderful wood he was selling. Shampoo ! He told me to pound a small piece of the wood and add water and I could make my hair soft and silky.

Organic and natural rainforest shampoo wood.

Close up....

If you are in Brunei Jerudong Market you can get this from our dear man in the vegetable section.....

You cannot get more organic than this!!

Charles...Happy Easter!!
The branches are really nice. I had used used them when I mandi sungei with friends in the ulu...very good in cleansing the scalp...but now all the rivers are so polluted and these trees are disappearing too. It seems many are still available in Temburong....

Reminds me of Indochina people putting organics white powder on their faces before commercialism crept in

wow..i want that!

Daniel...yes the locals always have some secrets we urban people do not understand or know...and later when their tribal knowledge is gone we live to regret it....or we have to pay a high price looking for some sources....

Hi Sarawakiana, now I know! No wonder for some reason or other Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei have more than their fair share of beautiful women. Exotic too.
I have been to Sabah and Sarawak, and the Orang Ulus, Bidayus, Kadazans I met or saw took my breath away with their exceptional exotic beauty.
And not to mention their luscious hair.
Now I know, ha ha.

Yes! Uncle Lee...I think you have done some good advertisement for us...the indigenous women here have very luscious hair...and that's their pride and glory....yes in the depths of our jungles we still have our secrets!!
Unfortunately a lot of the trees are disappearing fast....and now most ladies use manufactured shampoos pretending to be organic.....hahahahaha
Have a good week ahead...

If you can't get this woof, aloe vera, and neem tree is very good too. Tested by me.
