The Old Leaders of SUPP

Many villagers in the Rajang in the 60's and 70's only voted The Three Rings aka SUPP or Sarawak United People's Party after the Communists were defeated by the government. There was a change of heart. The Malayan base government won the war. Or did the government say it was the people's hearts they had won?

Then there was a struggle for party leadership in the 21st century.

The older generation of the SUPP leaders had all passed on. Ong Kee Hui, Stephen Yong Kuet Tze,etc.

SUPP started to lose in elections after Party President Dr. Wong Soon Kai lost his election bid. He retired from politics after his loss. Thereafter there was inner fighting in the party for leadership .

From 1997 to 2011, the party president was Dr. George Chan Hong Nam.

Peter Chin the next president won 5 elections and was also a Federal Minister. He was President ofr SUPP from 2011 to 2014.

Most people have forgotten the meaning of Three Rings.
