More videos on Rajang's log-clogged flow these few days

This Youtube is in Foochow by Foochow blogger Wong Meng Lei (videoed a few years back)

Sarawak River Board and an other relevant agencies should monitor more aspects of river water safety and river valley slope security - this is a massive task....more relevant and compassionate officers with clout should be employed. I believe we cannot have officers who heed only policies and VIPS and write no reports of consequence and relevance. The time has come for officers who are daring enough to not only to implement but are able to predict disasters and recommend solutions.

The bones of the dead are talking...and buried sewn trees are exploding into the rivers to tell their tales....

Sarawak can be the home of wonderful natural disasters consultants and professors who can make a mark in world history and other relevant forums.....and to help make the world a better place..

Foochow man can be heard saying in Foochow " Kiamat kiamat...muok sieh muok sieh...end of the world...."

Sarawakiana, i really feel sad n disappointed watching this video clip,Sibu is down falling town now, most of the leaders here are kind n generious by surface ! they never really solve what have happen to Sibu beside the floating logs incidence, maybe yes to certain parts which will affect their votes !!! Just read from the newspapers these few days, notice what our ministers said, they were telling fairy-tales to ignorant n innocent Sarawakians ! also they are now playing 'footballs' !!!

Dear TPT
Yes...it is very sad that after 100 years of the founding of a Foochow settlement in the Rajang this should be happening....no time to point fingers. no time to play football. No time for politics...just have to conserve as soon as possible...and I think who ever have been doing the damage must be "tarred and feathered" and chased out of town which was popularly done in western countries two centuries ago when the common people had power in their hands....

CY,

we are thinking alike again. This Friday is World Blog Day and the topic is water. I have already chosen my topic. Same as yours.

Dear Ann

perhaps it is timely that World Blog day is this Friday...and we will see what the world says...WATER is still the Key to life...great minds think alike.

Already the topic is dying down. People forget fast n realize not the significance of this event

Yes Observer...it's terrible...but logs gone...disaster forgotten according to some Sibu news....sigh of relief? but I am sure this is the beginning of something very serious.

I think you are right...people forget fast and they don't realise the seriousness of the phenomenon.

Yes I think the Foochow dialogue is very signficant. Careful and words well chosen too...there was an element of analysis too.
