Daun and Buah Entimun - The Golden Native Cucumber

I would really not mind having a food stall next to a river like this young lady.....

she is selling the ever popular chicken butt and chicken wings from her small charcoal grill. While waiting for her customers to buy their lunch or snack she prepares her own simple lunch of jungle greens and ikan bilis.

And guess what she has cooking over the grill for her own lunch?

I was properly fairly "rude" in asking her to show me what was inside her pot...The fragrance from the pot was so fresh and wonderful I had to be thick in face to ask her....Nope she was not going to sell me her lunch!! The intelligent and polite young lady is health conscious and she really has a great skin as I observed her.

This is the healthy entimun leaf lunch - and I can tell you that it is very delicious and healthy. This is what we call "soup terjun" and the cooking is oil-less. "Never mind you can have a peep...this is my lunch...better than a burger!!" It is definitely better than a burger!! From now on a simple charcoal grill will never be the same to me as I will always associate this image with the aroma of red hot charcoals now.....

Sarawak native cucumbers or entimun (it more s melon than a squash)
sometimes the really ripe entimum looks like honey dew melon..and this is  eaten raw.

This is a pot of good soup - very healthy indeed.
