The factory is actually a whole old house situated in the old part of miri, called Krokop. Krokop in Chinese means the Village of Pigs.
There is a lot of history in Krokop - the first town school in Miri was started in Krokop, the Chinese Primary School of Krokop in 1949 by the river side. The first biscuit factory was built in Krokop, Chin Clung, and the first tofu maker lived in Krokop too. It was originally the village where pigs were grown very conveniently for all Chinese in Miri town as early as the 1920's.
The first bridge was built to link Krokop and Miri too across Sg. Baong.
Chop Chin Lung captured the biscuit market of Northern Sarawak at the beginning of its business. Biscuits packed in paper boxes were sent by coastal ships from Miri to Bintulu, Lawas and Limbang. Their biscuits were sold in all the small shops of the bazaars along the Baram.
Today from the same house-factory, we can get good fresh from the oven biscuits at about 10 in the morning.
