U really ate the soup?
When my maternal grandma came down to town, she once stayed at Mission rd, ( No, she was too old to be in that kind of business and then I was too embarrassed to tell people my grandma live there because people sniggered the moment I mention Mission rd.) There were lots of mud skippers. I often asked if these fish down there could be eaten.
Ann..my mum said they never did think about eating mud skippers...and later she found to her horror that Eh Meng Ran jia mud skippers in Xiamen....she won't have the soup. the next generation did!! But I do wonder if some of the Hokkiens in Sibu ever cooked their own mud skipper soup in Mission Road...have to ask my Hokkien cousins...
I’m from Florida, and my mom has the best recipe for mudskipper pate. Yum! Also mudskipper pie with the sour cream frosting with prawns.
