Escalators

When the first lift in Sibu was installed for the Sarawak Hotel it attracted a lot of people to go there for a look. Children really enjoyed themselves. I believe the management at that time was really worried about the new technology.

Then when the escalators came to Sibu, many people had to learn how to ride them. Some could not put their feet on the steps. My mother already had a very traumatic experience with escalators.

I am always reminded to take the seniors by the hand and help them put their best foot forward. Some of them could be petrified.
