"It's elementary ..my dear Watson...."

It was almost eight in the morning when Watson was called by Sherlock Holmes to come for a chat in the police station....and the sky was down cast and the haze enveloping the cliff....there was a truly eerie feeling. All at once Watson felt the heat on his collar rising up ........His throat was dry and his palms sweaty...

Overlooking the huge Tunku Pelita Watson saw just particles of dust not quite settling and he knew that Holmes must be on a very hot trail.....

He took the coastal road and found smoke enveloping even the best of the expat residences....

Something was brewing....and he was quite sure Sherlock could solve the problem....

Holmes and Watson...can they do the job?

It is a job too big for Holmes and Watson. We need to call in pest control specialists like LKY to exterminate all those Termites responsible for this annual environmental nightmare in Sarawak!

Elementary, my dear Watson.
Ha ha, can see you been reading Sherlock Holmes books.
I love the 'Hounds of the Baskervilles'.

How you doin'? Here's wishing you a pleasant weekend, Lee.

this haze is infact our "yearly festival".we celebrates it with cough,sorethroat,mood-swings,squeezy eyes ...& plus bonus - H1N1 !tell our neighbour to stop everything, who'll give them rice to cook? i get "desperate" whenever i go out of my home, seeing the smoggy outside.

Hi Ikan Sembilan
I am honoured by your visit...
We do need exterminators of the superior kind.
The Baram is black and brown..worse than all the Blitzes and the Scorch and Burn Policies ....From where will help come?

Uncle Lee
Ah Ha....Sherlock Holmes and Watson were my friends throughout childhood and youth...and I shall be reading them again and again.Sir Alan C. D. was fantastic !
I spent the weekend trying to get an appetite - tried sushi (without the Ginza Kimono-ed girls)and Hokkien Mee without the loud singlet wearing hawkers of Petaling street....and it was fine as we dined in low population area and quite away from the fumes...
Cheers to your week ahead. I am sure there is no smoke and no fire in your place!

This place is bad...I like the way you said it...An Annual Festival of Coughing...I get so scared that I may get sick...as no children would be around to look after me....
Today my lips are very dry and I have applied lip balm gargled my throat with salt water and drank almost two litres of cucumber and green apple juice....
How are you doing? Do take care ......

Hi
I really think the Bomba and others are not having adequate eqipment...and some just sit down after carrying the huge hose...some are not fit even I think!!
The fire is still going on and on in Kuala Baram..Is the government going to do more?
Jane.

Dear Jane
How are you? Hope all are fine and the haze is not too bad in your area. I use a wet towel to moisturize the room and switch on the air con after 6 pm and now it is until morning. I feel grimy all the time.
The fire is not going to stop as I see that it is a gargantuan task...everyone will have to work very hard and over time...May be someone should write a book about firefighting in the peat swamps!!I could see a trail of smoke running quite easily....and then all the midin is gone....

tks for asking - im doing just fine.recently got worried over 1 of my boy,got fever and luckily he's fine now.this H1N1 thingy really got parents into a panic stage, everytime their child got sick.i hope the almighty quickly gets this menace off the shelve & i hope the "promised" vacine is available very soon.whether the vacine is easily available to the commoners is another big ? btw,i been taking the bitterest herbal tea concoction a few times and i think its doing good for my throat.

Dear Ah Ngao

Care to blog about the tea? I too need something for my overly sensitive throat....

Hope your boy is ok...kids suffer the most when adults in the society do something wrong generally.

I worry about the promised vaccine too. Australia has promised vaccines to all Aussies...but I am still waiting. The US did promise soe to pregnant women and kids...but still waiting...

What about China? No sign yet.
