Duku Langsat

A photo of a beautiful duku langsat tree (http://runningmum.blogspot.com)

There is now a common fear that fruit trees are disappearing from the villages as more people migrate to the towns. Soon oil palm will be the only dominant vegetation in Sarawak.

It will really be a pity if the quaint villages which support small populations dotting the map of Sarawak disappear over the years. It is these small villages which traditionally supply good fruits and durians of our ancestors.

So in the future we may have to eat supermarket non organic Thai durians or duku langsat wrapped in cling wrap sitting snuggly in punnets. If we have the money to spend on fancy and seasonal imported fruits.
