The Second White Rajah of Sarawak , Charles Brooke, had a squirrel named after him.
Brooke's squirrel (Sundasciurus brookei) is a species of rodent in the family Sciuridae. It is found in Indonesia and Malaysia. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forests.
It is now considered one of the endangered species in Borneo.
After Charles Hose gave him a specimen ,Oldfied Thomas named it after Charles Brooke, the second White Rajah of Sarawak. Charles Hose found the specimen on Mt Dulit which is at the headwaters of the Baram River, Sarawak. (Wikipedia)
