Nanga Silat and Bukit Kelam

After a lovely breakfast at Wakil Bupati's residence (and lots of photograph taking) we proceeded to Sintang Regency.

Lunch was at Nanga Silat - which needs a special mention in my blog....and after the lunch we visited the oldest and largest Single Rock in Asia - Bukit Kelam....

Bukit Kelam - You just cannot help but take lots of pictures of this magnificient monolith - the largest in Asia!! It is indeed a single rock by itself stading some 900 meters tall. It takes a strong and healthy young man at least 5 hours to climb to the top.

Second Station (Jesus given His Cross) It was as surprise to meet up with an old school friend Jonathan Barau  in this trip. -  my  school senior. He is one of the officials for the trip.

Station 6 Veronica wipes the face of Jesus (Pilgrims are allowed to take photos...this is to show the sculptures are more than life size!!) May God bless the Indonesian sculpturess Veronica richly.

My dear friend Cikgu Virginia believes that this is a good retreat. There are usually 15 stations of the Cross. So a visit here would really help Christians  learn more about the sufferings of Jesus Christ.

1. Jesus is condemned to death
2. Jesus is given his cross
3. Jesus falls the first time
4. Jesus meets His Mother
5. Simon of Cyrene carries the cross
6. Veronica wipes the face of Jesus
7. Jesus falls the second time
8. Jesus meets the daughters of Jerusalem
9. Jesus falls the third time
10. Jesus is stripped of His garments
11. Crucifixion: Jesus is nailed to the cross
12. Jesus dies on the cross
13. Jesus' body is removed from the cross (Deposition or Lamentation)
14. Jesus is laid in the tomb and covered in incense.

Although not traditionally part of the Stations, the Resurrection of Jesus is sometimes included as a fifteenth station^.
