A Tale of Many Fishes

Miri is a city by the sea.

Seafood is plentiful. There are seveal fish markets which give us lots of choice.
The Main Fish Market is next to the Tua Pek Kong Temple. There is one in Batu Satu Kuala Baram Road where fresh fish land.

There is a good one at Luak Bay.

Sometimes we drive all the way to Kuala Bakam to buy our fresh fish, off the boat. FFOB.

bUT MY favourite fish market is the one at Piasau Utara where the fishermen are friendly, the lady fish mongers very passionate about their merchandise. Small stalls outside the fish market also sell fresh vegetables and dried food.

BABY SHARKS

Tua Pek Kong fish which the Chinese won't eat.

This looks like a puffer fish The face of this fish is very interesting.

The smaller fish markets are friendlier...and the fishmongers will give you tips on how to prepare the fish you buy...be it steam, fried or braised. They will even tell you what races don't eat what fish.

They do know their customers very well.
