I made a good visit to a farm house near Mengzi. We had taken a bus there with some friends. We visited the street food stall owners, looked at how they prepared their food at home.
And in one of the houses I met this 80 Plus year old grandma who was so eager to tell us her stories!! How she learned to memorize her words and how to recognise enough words to get by. She told us how fortunate we were to be able to travel so far to see her and to listen to her.
She had to keep warm at all times so she had a knitted hat. Would I like to have one? She coud get one for me. She advised me not to make my head grow cold or else I would have headaches.
She was looking forward to her grandson's home coming. And she would have someone to talk to.
She was so reluctant to let us go off.
Her smiles and her mannerisms made the small living so warm. Even though her hut was a simple hut with very little, it was warm and welcoming, like her good heart.
