Class II Government quarters for graduates (Engineers, Teachers, etc) with an annex for amahs!!

They were all allocated properly by the chief clerk of the deparment when officers report for duty in the olden days. The keys were obtained from Public Works Department and all maintenance were done by that department.

The Government Civil Servants were an admired lot and their quarters were probably the best in town!

This is my favourite design. Class 4 Government Quarters.
Today most of these government quarters have been abandoned and many people cannot tell what class they were because of their derelict conditions.

Government quarters became a thing of the past when the Malaysian Federal Government encouraged civil servants to be house owners.
