Nipah Palm flower and fruit

Nipah Flower

We had a good trip to Batu Niah, for along the way there was plenty to see and lots of exciting scenery to photograph.

As we drove from Miri quite early, before daylight actually, we looked forward to having breakfast in Batu Niah.

It was a surprise that we could find even Foochow kampua in one of the coffee shops after the three hour drive.

That was so good as all of us in the team are all from Sibu.

Foochow kampua is so wholesome and so hearty. Such a comfort food.
This was a good trip to Belawai, the coastal town outside Sibu. Took us only 40 minutes to reach there. We had a good seafood lunch with fresh prawns and nice noodles.

Although it was a hot morning, the team enjoyed a lot of photography.

On our way back we found a Melanau man collecting nipah leaves. We took the opportunity to photograph him, the nipah palms and the flowers. The pretty flower is amazing!!
