Ducks and Ducklings

Foochows love to raise ducks and ducklings. They are not only considered delicacies but nourishing food.

Whenever kids have measles, Foochow mothers would look for a good mother duck to steam. The soup would be given to the child at the end of the infection. This is believed that all the infection would be totally expelled from the body.

Families who raise ducks are most careful with their ducks and their duck eggs. Mother ducks do not necessarily want to lay their eggs properly unless they are cooped up or fenced up. If they do lay their eggs elsewhere, we have to count our blessings when they bring their ducklings home.

Female ducks are friends with each other and they don't fight. However it is always good to keep only one DRAKE in the yard. Two drakes will definitely fight with each other. So usually the male ducks are eaten first by the family to bring peace to the yard.
