Kanowit

I taught in Kanowit in 1975, my second year of my teaching life.

I was transferred from Limbang Government School to SEDAYA, a unique school, which at that time was across the Rajang River.

It was quite isolated in a way. It used to be an Agriculture School.

Kanowit was a quaint little town with only two rows of shophouses.

The town in 1975 was busy in the morning and quiet in the afternoons. It was served by motor launches from Sibu. There was not road to Kanowit then.
