the spearing of pig is a ritual in the tradition of the Iban, in both Sarawak and Kalimantan.
A special spearing of a piglet (17 kg) after the miring ceremony is completed. This pig spearing is usually offered to an important person coming to visit a longhouse, or it can be considered as a special offering to welcome people to the house,etc.This ceremony is still considered a very significant ritual for the Ibans. It is also considered an important ceremony for a VIP to mark his visit to the longhouse.
