More than 7000 years ago, Chinese people had started hanging Red Cloth to their main door because their believed that Red is a symbol of Good Luck.
The Chinese also believe that hanging Red Cloth on their main door will prevent evil spirit and will usher in Good Fortune.
And it is most auspicious to hang red cloth over their door way for weddings and house warming.
while a simple piece of red cloth is adequate to hang over the door way, many in fact tried to make cloth flower balls etc.
Most Foochows in Sibu prefer a simple piece of red cloth over their door way for weddings and housewarming. They will save costs and make do without the flower balls.
