Sarawakian Local Delights : Paku and Bunga Kechala
Both paku and bunga kechala can be found growing in the wild in the jungles of Sarawak, especially along the banks of rivers.
It is quite easy to collect these two vegetables and cook them for the evening dinner when farmers return home. It is best to collect them in the morning when the farmers go to work in the fields. Sometimes the parents may ask the daughter to return home earlier to prepare the meal for the family since the parents can do all the heavier farm work throughout the day.
This is a very good dish to prepare. It is colourful and tasty.
