Sibu Tales : Recycling Newspaper

There are tons of plastic waste covering the face of the earth.

Perhaps we should go back to the old style of recycling newspapers.

A photo from Google reminds me of our days of growing up in Sibu and helping mum earn a bit of money.

I remember making these paper bags with my sisters and making a bit of money from Chop Chai Hong. In the morning our house would smell of the sour glue made from tapioca flour..by evening all the paper bags would be dried and the edges

firmly sealed.No photo description available.

How time flies. We are all in our 60's now. Next year I will be 70.

And amazingly, my sisters and I are still in touch with the daughter of Chai Hong Towkay.
