The Balcony : Drying of Clothes
One WEEK has passed since 31st August 2020 (1.20 pm) Monday. Kuching, Kasuma REsort and Condominium.
This is a view that my mother enjoyed during the last years of her life. She had moved from the Rajang River bank to the Kuching River bank.
She loved the balcony of the condo as she could dry her clothes well.
Ma was a work horse. She was never afraid of doing work and since childhood she would pick up what others did not want to complete.
If she were a writer she could have written a book about "The Joy of Working".
She used to tell us, "I am not afraid of work. There is something to do."
She disliked men who were lazy and she would not talk about women who were unwilling to do work. She would just dismiss them by saying, "No need to say." These were not worthy to be talked about.
When the sun came out in the morning, she would take out clothes to dry them if they were still damp because of the rain the day before. She would "turn" or peleng the clothes so that they would dry faster.
One of the joys of her day - clothes smelling of the hot tropical sun!!
She is now reunited with all her loved ones who had passed on before her. May she rest in peace.
