Lookaing South at Miri 2021

It has always been a good drive from Piasau Camp area (now known as Piasau Bird Park) to Lutong.

The sea breezes in the morning are always cooling and beach quiet and waves come in gently on a fine day.

The concrete piles are always there to greet us. And a walk on the beach would always give us a good view of Miri in the south.

Waves are powerful tools of destruction and we often wonder how long it would take the sea to eat into the land.

In the 1960's a beach road was used by the local buses and Shell vehicles as well as private car owners. Today that beach and sand road has all been swallowed up.

A new road has been constructed in the 1990's but again it is in danger of being eroded away.

The Anderson Bridge may soon be gone.

Kampong Api Api has been moved away.
