One of the oldest restaurants in Sibu was the Syn Choon LKiau, a New Spring Restaurant which was rather popular in the 1960's. Many wedding banquets and memorial (old Rice_ meals were held here. It was favoured especially by down river people (villagers)
For a long time the upstairs or first floor of this restaurant was a good gathering places for down river people as the food was good.
But what was very memorable was that the shop banner has three languages, Chinese in red, English in blue and Jawi also in blue.
A shop sign board in three languages was not very common in those. Bujt correct me if I am wrong.
