Stratford Park Warden's House

My London friends who have a beautiful house live in Stratford...the  venue of 2012 London Olympics. That's a brilliant place to be in at the moment. We would get off the Stratford Tube station and ride along the tube and have a good look at the Olympic Village getting built for a few days. Even though it was quite foggy when we arrived I had a good idea of how huge the whole venue would be like. Already the stadium looks gigantic!! The sun did come out the first morning we were there. But on another day when we met up with some other Sarawakians in Chinatown it was really a typical London rain day - and of course - out with the brallies (umbrellas).

Stratford would now be a place to be remembered by many!!

But as we all have a very efficient bus to catch in the morning I cannot be but amazed by the lovely cottage the Park Warden is given. This park cottage is just opposite the bus stop where we catch the bus to the Stratford Tube Station. I heard that the park warden is an ex-teacher but is enjoying himself as a Park Warden. Isn't life just marvellous to be looking after plants and taking care of flowers and usage of the park?

A lovely Park Cottage

This is the Countryside Hotel London...you hop off the Tube station at Stratford and you will see this little Bed and Breakfast place at students' affordable rates. This is definitely not a Three Star Hotel according to some friends who have stayed there. But London is expensive by any standard. For a bath and some breakfast in the morning this B and B (which is rather typical in London) is ok. You can make you own tea and coffee. Rates will definitely go up soon and also Stratford Tube station would have direct links with Paris in the near future. Be careful when you choose B and B in England. It is always better to ask a local friend to recommend if you need a place to stay. Some B and B can be excellent really especially in the smaller towns where the owners take pride in the hospitality business..

Looks like Stratford is really the place to buy lots of property.

UK is beautiful. In the early 80's. B&B cost less than 5 pounds each. Four years ago, it was 20+ pounds per head for B&B. I think we will be going there next year.

Hi...yes I agree....UK is one of those old beautiful places where you can see Roman walls and old Shakespearean cottages...and bridges built in the 10th centuries....Strange so many of us like to see the tranquility of old glacier lakes and old ancient villages and not the ultra modern skyscrapers.
