More on Memories and Keepsakes of Sarawak

After spending a nice morning outside we were glad to be back again in the house to enjoy more of the conversations and reminiscences of each others' experiences in Sarawal. The living room as well as the warm kitchen had just the right ambience .

Jim Reutler is reading a book on Sibu. This is a huge government publication which shows the changes in Sibu.

Mr and Mrs. Johnson have always been fond of their students and remember almost every one with love. They were very very impressed by the brilliant Maths students of Methodist Secondary School especially.

Here Mrs. Williams is looking through some other photos with Mrs. Johnson.

Mr. Wilsthire wearing a batik shirt (he still speaks very good Malay) and reading newspaper articles from Mrs. Pat Johnson's collection of scrapbooks from the 1960's.

Mr. Tomlinson on the phone with Rev Senior who was not able to attend the reunion.

Another keepsake from the Tomlinson's collection. A Chinese scroll for Chinese Sunday School depicting the parable of the Prodigal Son..with a Ching Dynasty background! This is more than a 100 years old.

An old but still in good use Olympia typewriter - sermons and letters were typed on this kind of
typewriter in old days Sarawak and mailed via air mail or sea mail! Many young people might not relate to this. In fact many of my generation would remember typing on stencils to prepare notes for our students.

What would you keep for your own loved ones and groups to make alive some memories in a future reunion?
