Minority Ethnic Groups of Yunnan

In this women's activity centre, the older women were fond of wearing their own tribal costumes.  Here we were served fruits by them. One of the fruits served was the Monkey Fruit, which is actually the fruit which the kiwi develops from.

This is another area which we visited and we met many other women wearing different minority clothes. All of them can sing very well.

It was a Sunday and I went to worship in a church that was actually in a shophouse. As I waited for my friends on the street I met some ladies who had come from the hills to worship in the church. They were busy farmers but they would spend time to meet up with friends, and say their prayers, listen to sermons on a Sunday morning. Some walked down from the hills for an hour or so, carrying a back pack (vegetables they could also sell on a Sunday) to catch their bus to Mengzi.

This young man is the lead singer of the ethnic choir of this church. The choir is fantastic.
