The mujau is a small red fruit, rather like a hairless but mini rambutan. Its scientific name is Nephelium Maingayi Heirn
The tree can grow up to 40 m tall.
The fruits are loved by the local hunters and villagers who discover them in the wild. As the Sarawak jungle is being decreased by logging, this fruit is getting rarer.
Furthermore its timber is good quality. so timber men often just cut them down as timber and not recognising them as fruit trees.
