Sarawak fruit : Kakus
The Fijian longans or Kakus is grown in many parts of Sarawak. In fact how it spread was quite a mystery. Could it have been brought back by timber workers?
The fruit is nice, with a thick skin. Some people even call it crystal longans. It is also known as Brazilian Longans.
The flesh of the fruit is like lycees but is not as sweet.
This fruit seems to be very popular in Miri and is selling at 12.00 ringgit per kg.
