It's a croaker!! The Chinese call it Shuang ya (two teeth), but in Miri it is called sam gay or three teeth or ikan gelama or Gelama Jarang Gigi.
It is a very popular cheap fish. Grilled and fried, it is a tasty fish. It is also nice if it is wrapped in leave and grilled. Sometimes we shallow fry it first and then make a tou cheo sauce for the dish. Add some pineapple cubes and tomatoes.
It is a good fish to grill when we organize an outing. Not many fine bones.
