Baram Tales : Beluru

The Muslim shops of Beluru - older shops were all wooden, making Beluru one of the oldest wooden bazaars in the Baram.

There were actually two rows of wooden shops built by the g overnment for the Chinese traders in the early days by t he river side. These two rows of shops were popular for every one especially the rubber tappers and growers.

There are now good and sturdy concrete shophouses in Beluru which has become an Oil Palm town. Many planters come with their Hiluxes. Coffee shops aare doing good business. Supply shops continue to do well. Just like all those long ago time.
