In Foochow this is called Buong Die Wang Che Qian Cao and is often boiled as tea to alleviate kidney disease, kidney stones, gall stones, urinary tract infections (most common and effective), influenza, bronchitis, jaundice, ulcers and liver disorders.
Thus the Foochows grow a lot of this in their backyard and whenever necessary they pull out a few of these leaves and boil them. Normally Foochow housewives are learned about simple ailments and home remedies.
It is a home remedy for children's fever.
This plant is sold fresh in most wet markets in Asia. The dried leaves can be purchased in Chinese medicine shops.
